Evolve Tours Europe is unlike any other go-to-Europe teen program. For one thing, it has the word "Evolve" in the title. What do those guys have? Nothin'. But more importantly, you'll bounce from France to Spain to Italy, travel by train, coach, bus and air, alternate between surfing, hiking, touring, sight-seeing and dining, and more.
In a nutshell: we haven't held anything back! You'll get the total Europe experience, and we even encourage you to help lead the group in navigating so that a few years down the road, when you're in college and decide to go somewhere exotic, you won't get immediately lost and spend hours trying to explain to a guy who sells chickens that although his chickens look very nice, you really need to find your hostel, no chickens, no chickens please.
In the evenings, when you aren't being smacked in the face with the beauty of European cities lit up at night, you'll stay in clean and comfortable hotels and dorms, and eat in fine restaurants with your new friends. The ultimate teen travel experience in Europe.
July 8-10 2013: Paris
We'll kick off in Paris, France. Climb the Eiffel tower to see spectacular views of dudes in striped shirts with moustaches and berets (amongst others), tour the Louvre (that famous museum that would take six thousand years, in our professional opinion, to see the entirety of), take pictures of the Arc de Triomphe and check out the Musee d'Orsay and more. We'll also tour Montmartre and do some fun activities before dining at a Parisian bistro. In the evening, our English speaking guide will take us on a charming and - dare we say, magical - walking tour of the most romantic city in the world.
July 11-13 2013: Biarritz
Biarritz is the epicenter of the French surf scene, which is why we decided to have the surfing lessons there instead of in the Parisian bistro like Evolve's quirky founders originally proposed. We'll also check out the surrounding area and take in the sun and the ocean.
July 14-18 2013: Spain
For 3 days, we'll hit some of the gorgeous sites in Barcelona, like Sagrada Familia (a dramatically designed, almost futuristic-looking church) and Park Guell. We'll hang on the beaches, shop for goods that our grandchildren will one day fight to the death over, explore the lush forests from above and between the branches like elegant eco-ninjas, kayak in the sea and more.
July 19-21 2013: Cinque Terre
Cinque Terre (which translates literally into "crazy awesome") are five villages built into the rocks of the Italian riviera, overlooking the sea. Century-old footpaths wind from 500-1000 feet above the sea, and will take us through olive groves, vineyards, orchards, chestnut woods and (we can only assume) unicorn sanctuaries. We'll hike, swim, and take in the blazing Mediterranean sunsets from our balconies.
July 22-25 2013: Florence
Florence is one of those places that, after the cockroaches have taken over, will still be one of the most charming cities in the world. We'll see its incredible museums and galleries (including The Academia, The Barrgello and Uffizi Gallery) and walk along the Arno River and over the Ponte Vecchio Bridge in the evening - which we promise, if you Google it, will blow your mind with its architectural beauty. It's like a bridge that grew a bunch of houses on itself by accident. The next day we'll take a walking tour of Florence and explore the outdoor markets, followed by cooking our own gourmet Italian dinner with the help of some Florentine chef instructors
July 26-29 2013: Rome
We'll take a high speed train to the city of Rome. On our first day we will see the Coliseum, where we'll fight each other with spiky weapons in the noble gladiator tradition as the Evolve Tours guide gives the thumbs-down to indicate who gets fed to the lion. (Parents: kidding! Just kidding.) Many of the historic sites we'll visit have survived thousands of years, like the Campo de Fiori and the Pantheon. The next day, we tour the Vatican, the Sistine Chapel (ceiling painting courtesy of Michelangelo) and St. Peters Cathedral. In the evening, we'll head to the pretty area of Trastevere to sample the savory pizzas and pastas for which Italy is famous.
